Hi everyone! Today I am back with a very exciting post, as I am part of a video hop in celebration of Justine Hovey’s 50K subscribers on YouTube! Justine is such a talented crafter and so generous, and I am really happy to be able to celebrate this amazing milestone!
The hop is full of inspiration and giveaways, so stay tuned for more details in the video and at the end of this post.
The theme of the hop is our favorite cardmaking technique (speaking of, make sure to check Justine’s Resource Binder class for a ton of different ones) and I created two cards featuring ink blending, one with Distress Oxides and one with Distress Inks.
For my first card I used the Lawn Fawn Yeti or Not stamp and Winter Village stamp sets. I created a cute, almost monochromatic scene by combining these stamp sets with the MFT Stitched Snow Drifts Die-Namics and the Tonic Studios Layering Circles.
I also created a glittery snowfall with the MFT Snowfall Stencil and my Glimmer Paste in Moonstone.
On this card I used the ink blending technique in three different ways, and used Distress Oxides for the sky and the hills and Distress Inks for the moon. I don’t want to go in too much detail here, as everything is shown in the video tutorial (and all the supplies I used are listed at the end of this post).

For the second card I used Distress Inks and I combined the ink blending technique with masking and the use of stencils (The MFT Make Waves and Drifts and Hills stencils).
The stamp set I used is the Lawn Fawn Christmas Fishes set – so cute and fun! Except for the sentiment banner, I went for a one layer scene and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
Prior to coloring, I heat embossed the stamped images with clear embossing powder for some extra shine on the card.
If you would like to learn more about this card and the video hop, make sure to check out the video down below.

A huge thank you to Justine for inviting me to celebrate her 50K subscribers on YouTube and to you all for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!
