Once I was done coloring, I die cut the images with the Merry Poinsettia and the Kobi Bearing Gifts coordinating dies and I moved on to my background.
I die cut three panels out of some watercolor cardstock using dies in the Darling Ribbon and Frames, Dotted Patterns Set 3 and Scallop Frames sets.
I used the new Studio Katia Blending Brushes to add some color to my die cut rectangle and oval, over which I blended Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides, respectively.
The blending bushes feel so super soft and blending with them was really easy! You can see them in action in the video at the end of this post!
It’s hard to see in the pictures, but I added some shimmer to the scalloped rectangle using some Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder by Wow!. I stamped the smaller images in the Merry Poinsettia stamp set using Versamark ink over the entire panel, I coated them with the embossing powder, and I heat set the powder with my heat gun.
I also added some more sparkle to the card by coating some of the images with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen. It is hard to catch on camera, but in real life it’s really pretty!
