Hi everyone! Today I am back with a bright and cheerful card featuring the Studio Katia Under the Sea stamp set and a video showing how to create an easy watercolor background with Distress Ink Reinkers!
background
I started by creating my background on some watercolor cardstock by Crafters Companion. I first die cut it with the Scallop Heart Cover die, I then wet the panel with water and lastly added a few drops of Distress Reinkers in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass.
I sped up the drying process with a heat gun and created more interest by adding some droplets with water, my Distress Ink Refills, white acrylic paint and Spectrum Noir Sparkle ink in the color Jade.
IMAGES
The images I used today are part of the Studio Katia Under the Sea stamp set. I stamped them with Spectrum Noir black alcohol proof ink on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and colored them with Illustrator markers. Here is the list of markers I used
Manta Ray: LV3, HB3, HB2, HB1
Jelly Fish: BP7, BP5, BP3, BP1
Squid: OR1, GY3, CT4, CT2
Puffer Fish: JG5, GT3, GT2, GT1
Sea Horse: TB5, TB3, TB1
Crab: CT10, CT7, CT4
Tiny Fish: CT4, CT2, LY1
Star Fish: OR3, OR2, OR1
Sea Weed: CT4, CT2, CT1
Coral: BT6, IB3, IB2, IB1
Rocks: IG7, IG5, IG3
Once the coloring was over, I die cut the images with the Under the Sea coordinating dies.
Sentiment and Finishing touches
For the sentiment I used the Lovely Words dies and for the black card background I used the Darling Ribbon and Frames dies.
I added some finishing touches with a glitter brush pen, a white gel pen and a black glaze pen. I mounted everything on a side folding card base and that finished off my card.
If you are interested in seeing the step by step process, here’s my video for you! I hope you like it!
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
