No-Line Spectrum Noir Coloring plus Distress Oxide Emboss Resist Background feat Craftin Desert Divas Coffee Wizards

Hello everyone! Today I am on the Craftin Desert Divas blog with a card I made using the Coffee Wizards stamp set.
I wanted to try my hand at some no-line coloring, so I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo in London Fog on some Neenah Solar white cardstock and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir markers. Once I was done coloring all the images, I stamped the “Coffee Mischieve Managed” sentiment using Distress Oxide in Walnut Stain. And I have to say, I really love the sentiments in this stamp set! They are super fun! πŸ™‚
Once my scene was ready I cut it down using the largest from the Inside Scalloped Circles dies, and I moved on to my background. I took a piece of watercolor paper cut to 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2 and used Versamark Ink to stamp some of the smaller images in the Coffee Wizards set in a random pattern. I then coated everything with some Nuvo clear glitter embossing powder, and heat set it with my heat gun. I inked up the background with Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans and Wilted Violet and I spritzed it with water for some added interest. And the fun part about using embossing powder with Distress Oxides is that the embossed areas on your card will resist the inks, so you end up with a nice pattern on your background! And the shimmer on this particular one is so pretty!
Once my background was ready, I cut a frame for my scene with the largest die from the Inside Scallop Circles set and inked it up with Distress Oxide in Walnut Stain. I used the same Walnut Stain Distress Oxide to add color to my card base, which I created out of some heavyweight cardstock, as well as to the edges of my scene die cut. I trimmed my Distress Oxide background to 4 by 5 1/4″ and glued everything in place.
And that’s it! The card is ready!
To make it easier for you to follow along, I also created a video tutorial showing the whole card making process, which you can watch on my YouTube channel by clicking here.
I hope you enjoy it!
