Rustic Cards/Home Decor feat Spellbinders

Hi everyone! Today I am back with two rustic cards that could be also used as home decor elements, created with products by Spellbinders. I used two stamps from the Tammy Tatterow collection, Bobbin Wishes and Cute as a Button, corrugated cardstock and balsa wood from the Spellbinders Platinum Pack 5, and some Spellbinders Craft Foam.
I used the same basic techniques on both projects, but with different supplies, so let’s dive into it!
For the first project I heat embossed the Bobbin Wishes stamp with white embossing powder, and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils. I used french greys for the sentiment (PC 1076, PC 1072, PC1069), warm greys for the bobbin (PC1058, PC1054, PC1052, PC1050, PC938) and for the pink elements I used pinks and reds (PC994, PC993, PC108 and PC925, PC930, PC938).

I added some droplets with white acrylic paint, and used my scissors to distress the edges of the panel.
I cut a sheet of balsa wood to 4.25×5.5”, ran some off-white vintage ribbon across its corners, and mounted the focal panel using some Multi Medium Matte adhesive.

For the second project I stamped the Cute as a Button Stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink on some Canson XL watercolor cardstock, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
To add color to the sentiment I did some watercoloring with Distress Oxides: I used Bundled Sage for the words “you are” and “as a”, Aged Mahogany for the word “button”, and Candied Apple and Fired Brick for the word “cute” and for the button. I painted the needle with Hickory Smoke and applied a light wash of Antique Linen Distress Oxide on the whole panel.

I added some droplets with Antique Linen for extra texture, and used my scissors again to roughen up the edges of the panel.

I then took a sheet of corrugated cardstock, cut it to 4.25×5.5”, and decorated it with some green vintage ribbon. And to finish the project I raised the focal panel on the base using some craft foam.
And here’s another look at these projects.
You could mount them on a card base…

…or add some twine to the back so that you can hang them to your wall and use them as home decor.

I also uploaded a video showing how I created today’s projects, you can watch it down below or directly on my YouTube channel
And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this post and enjoyed the video! Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
