Pop-up Box Card feat Craftin Desert Divas Box Die and Wet Feet Release Special

Hello everyone! Today I am really excited to share with you a project I made using stamps and dies from the Craftin Desert Divas August release! If you follow me, you will have realized by now that I love interactive cards, so I was really thrilled when I found out that Craftin Desert Divas was going to release their own Box Die! I just had to jump ahead and make a project with it!

I decided to use the Wet Feet stamp set, which is one of the two specials for the August release (more on that at the end of this post) and to create a beach scene on my pop-up box.
To begin with, I stamped all my images on some Bristol Smooth cardstock and I colored them using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used images from the Wet Feet set, and one image from the Tickled Pink set (the ball that you will see in one of the pictures below). I used one marker per color, and blended everything out with a water brush.
Using the main die from the Box set, I cut two pieces of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and I used Distress Inks to add color to sides of my die cuts. For the sand I used Antique Linen, for the sky I used Tumbled Glass, and for the ocean I used Mermaid Lagoon.
I also cut three panels using another die in the set, because I wanted to add decoration to the side flaps on my pop up box. I inked up two of them with Mermaid Lagoon, and I inked up the borders of the third one with Antique Linen. As you can see in the picture above, I stamped my sentiment on this last die cut piece before adhering it down. To add even more fun details on my pop up box, I did some partial die cutting on the two remaining panels using the wave border die from the Craftin Desert Divas Outdoor Landscape 2 set. I used some liquid glue to adhere all the panels to my pop-up box.
The Box Die set also comes with dies to cut supports for your images to stand up. I cut three of them and inked them up with Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon. I then used the wave die from the Outdoor Landscape 2 Dies set to create some waves “to dress” up my supports and make the box look even more fun: I simply cut strips of Bristol Smooth cardstock using the wave border die, inked them with Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon, cut them to size so that they would fit in my box, and glued them to the supports.
A this point I assembled the box and the supports, and added all the images to make a fun beach scene. As I said at the beginning of this post I used mostly images from the Wet Feet set and one image from the Tickled Pink set.
For the sky I created the sun using one of the decorative dies that come with the Box Die set: I cut some Bristol smooth cardstock and Inked it up with Distress Ink in Mustard Seed. I also used the cloud die from the Craftin Desert Divas Rainbow Die set to add some more interest to the sky. I adhered a few stars to the panel sentiment, and tucked some more floats and the ball behind the waves on my side panels.

And that’s it for today’s project! I really love how this one turned out, and I can’t wait to play more with this super fun Box die!

I also created a video showing you what this die set looks like, and how you can use it to create your pop-up boxes. You can watch it on my YouTube channel by clicking here.
And don’t forget to let me know what you think about it!

And before I go I wanted to tell you a bit more about the release specials for the Craftin Desert Divas August release. During the period between August 9th and August 20th every order of 50$ will get a one free 2×3 stamp set – and the Wet Feet set that I showcased in today’s post is one of them. The offer is valid until supplies last and not applicable to previous orders. If you want to find out what the other release special is, you can join our release event on Facebook: the design team is sharing tons of inspiration for the new stamp sets! And the more people will join, the more freebies and giveaways will be offered!
And that’s all for today’s post! I really hope you enjoyed it and liked my project, and I hope I inspired you to create using the new Craftin Desert Divas Box Die. I will list all the supplies I used at the end of this post, and I will be back soon with more fun cards for you! In the meantime I wish you all a great day! Ciaooo!
