Mixed Media Inspired Card feat C.C. Designs Barky

Mixed Media Card C.C. Designs Barky

Hi everyone! The new C.C. Designs release is fast approaching and today I want to share with you a card I created with the new Barky stamp set. This card is quite far from my usual style and was inspired by mixed media and art journaling. It was tons of fun to create and I think I want to play with this style more in the future!

Before diving into the card I wanted to let you know that today is Tuesday 2 Day on the C.C. Designs store, and you can find four different products at half their retail price! You can have a look at them here

For the background I die cut some Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolor cardstock to a standard A2 size. I then created the paint dripping effect with Distress Oxide in Walnut Stain and a Distress Sprayer. I added splatters with Distress Oxides in Walnut Ink and Ground Espresso and with Nuvo Mica Mists in Antique Gold.  I then used the new Paw Print Background Stamp to stamp a rough impression on the paws, using again Walnut Stain Distress Oxide.

I swiped the Distress Oxide pads (Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso) directly on the edges of the background and  added some texture with White Ranger Texture Paste and the Boy Doodle Stencil. I set the background aside to dry and moved on to my images.

These are part of the new Barky Stamp Set. I stamped them with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide on some Kraft cardstock and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I used the Barky Outline Cutters to die cut them out.

For the panel where the dogs are standing I used the Diamond Metal dies to cut some Kraft cardstock. I stamped again the Paw Print Background Stamp with Walnut Ink Distress Oxide, which I also used to add shading to the edges of the panel. I used foam tape to tape the panel to the background and also to tape the dogs to the panel.

For the sentiment banner I used one of the dies in the Quad Collage Metal die and Distress Oxide in Ground Espresso. The sentiment itself comes from the Barky stamp set too, and I think it is hilarious!
I added some finishing touches with a while gel pen and Nuvo drops in Dark Walnut and Gloss White, and that finished off my card.
And that’s it for today! Make sure to visit the C.C. Designs blog and to comment on the designer’s blog for a chance to enter the giveaways during release preview week!
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!
