Mixed Media Card with Free Scrapbook.com SVG Cut File

Hi everyone! Today I am back with another card I created with the Scrapbook.com free Floral Sampler Pack digital file. If you missed it my previous post, I have two more cards created with it and a video tutorial too, that you can find here.

This set of cut files is free as part of the Scrapbook.com World Cardmaking Day celebrations, with sales and freebies too! Today you can get the cute Happy Scissors Collectible Pin by Doodlebug Design for free! So adorable!
Also make sure you check out the sales page, as cardmaking items are up to 50% off !

For my card today I used the Floral Spray and TN Floral HI Dash files, and resized them to 6″ and 5″ tall, respectively. I used my ScanNCut machine to cut the patterns out of some watercolor cardstock and then started working on my card.

I cut some watercolor cardstock to 4.25 by 5.5″ and started creating my background with Distress Oxides. I used Tattered Rose, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet and the ink smooshing technique at first.
I then blended them over the floral cut out frame that I obtained from the Floral Spray file, to create more texture on the background.

Next, I used the TN Floral HI Dash cut design as a stencil, and I applied some Ranger Texture Paste in several areas of my background.
I blended Distress Oxide in Black Soot over the floral frame and the sentiment hi and I glued them to the card base. I added color to the flower centers with Fossilized Amber, Tattered Rose and Dried Marigold Distress Oxides, using again the ink smooshing technique.

As a finishing touch, I filled some of the leaves and the hearts with Crackle Accents, coated the sentiment with Glossy Accents, and added some stitching detail with a white gel pen.

And that’s it for today! Don’t forget that you can get this cut file, as well as the Doodlebug Happy Scissors Collectible Pinfor free on Scrapbook.com, where you will also find great discounts on tons of cardmaking supplies!

Let me know in the comments below if you have ever worked with cut files before and I wish you a great weekend!
