Create Metallic Accents with Heat Embossing

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a floral card featuring some heat embossed accents, as well as the Studio Katia Honey Bees and Floral Garden stamp sets. Make sure to watch the video at the end of this post for a step by step tutorial, showing how you can make it too!

For my card background, I started by die cutting some Bristol Smooth Cardstock with the Darling Ribbon & Frames dies. I heat embossed the images in the Floral Garden stamp set with gold embossing powder and then did some ink blending with Distress Oxides. I used Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean together with my Studio Katia blending brushes.
I then decided to add a little more detail to the background.  I used the Oxide lift technique to lighten up some of the flowers on my background and added a few strokes with a Prismacolor pencil. If you are not familiar with the Distress Oxide Lift technique, make sure to watch the video, as I explain it in more detail there! 🙂

Next, I created some metallic accents for my card. I cut a thin rectangle frame as well as a dome shaped frame out of some white cardstock, using the Dotted Square Frame Die and the Scallop Square Dies. I then coated the die cuts with clear embossing ink and embossed them with gold embossing powder. I repeated this step a couple of times, so that my die cuts would be nice and dimensional, and I did the same for my sentiment, for which I used the Lovely Words Dies.

For a touch of cuteness, I stamped and colored a few of the images in the Honey Bees stamp set. I die cut them with the coordinating dies and glued them to my card front. I also created a focal point on my card by backing my domed shape frame with some vellum.

As a last step, I scattered some Gold Foil Confetti on my card front. Don’t forget to check out the video tutorial down below to see how to create this beautiful floral card with metallic accents! And if you haven’t already, make sure to subscribe for more inspiration!
