FOILING WITH NO HEAT | THERMOWEB TRANSFER GEL DUO

Foiling without a laminator. Card featuring Rina K Neon Flock and Lawn Fawn So Smooth Stamp Set

If you’d like to use foil or flock on your cards but do not own a laminator or an expensive foiling machine, today’s post is for you! I had the opportunity to play with the new Thermoweb Transfer Gel Duo [THR, SBC, ELH] and the Rina K Neon Flock Sheet and I have a post and a video for you, sharing how you can use these products to create a bright and cheerful card!

The card also features a fun stencil by Studio Katia and some Lawn Fawn stamps. Ready? Let’s have a look at how to create it!

BACKGROUND

For the background of my card I started from some watercolor cardstock that I die cut to an A2 size using the Heffy Doodle Clover Frames dies.
I used the Studio Katia Ink Splash Stencil [SK, ELH] to create some orange juice splashes with my Neon Flock Sheets. To do that, I first applied my Thermoweb Transfer Gel Duo through the stencil and I left it aside to dry. Once it was completely dry and it had turned clear, I could go ahead and apply my flock.

The amazing property of the Transfer Gel Duo is that you can use it with or without heat! In my case I chose the second option, so I layed the Flock Sheets pretty side up on my card background and ran everything through my die cutting machine! As easy as that! You can also use Thermoweb Foil sheets to add foling this way – so many possibilities!

The images I used on today’s card come from three different Lawn Fawn Stamps sets: So Smooth, Love Letters and Big Thanks. I stamped them with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Proof Black Ink and I colored them with my Illustrator Markers. Here is the list of the markers I used:

Birds: BO1, CT4, CT1
Birds’ Beaks: OR3, BO1
Orange Juice: OR3, OR1, BO1
Blender and Berries Bag: CR10, CR7, CR3, CR2
Blender Knobs: IG8, IG4, IG2
Glass: BT3, BT1
Ice Tray, Yogurt Bowl and Little Umbrella: BT7, BT5, BT3, BT1

If you want to see the actual coloring, you can do so in the video below.

SENTIMENT AND FINISHING TOUCHES

The sentiment I used for my card is part of the Lawn Fawn So Smooth stamp set. I embossed it with white embossing powder on black cardstock and I cut it into a banner with the Heffy Doodle More Strips of Ease dies [SBC, ELH].

I added some white gel pen detail to the cheeks of the birds, a dot of glossy accents on their beaks, and I coated the smoothie in the blender and in the glass with Scrapbook.com Glitter Brush Marker – SOOO sparkly!

VIDEO

As I mentioned, I also created a video tutorial for you where I will explain in more detail how to use the Thermoweb Gel Transfer Duo to add Flock to your card without using any heat! You can watch it down below or directly on my YouTube channel!
