Hi everyone! Today I am back with a sweet scene card that I created for this month’s Get Cracking on Christmas! If you are not familiar with it, each month we share Christmas inspiration and you can join in too!
More on this at the end of this post, but right now let’s have a look at the card I created!
I really felt like some relaxed crafty time – and that for me means coloring! I decided to use the Mama Elephant Toasty Friends stamp set ( SSS | ELH ) and to create a fire lit scene.
I started by doing some masked stamping and I used Removable Packaging Labels ( AMZUS ) to create my masks. These are quite an affordable solution and can be used over and over again. I stick them to my stamp packaging and they are ready for the next time I am gonna need them!
For my coloring I used my go to medium: Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers ( SBC ). I started by mapping out the areas where I wanted the glow. I used a light yellow marker for this, and then I went ahead and colored the rest of the scene.
I kept the whole palette pretty warm because I wanted a cozy feel for my card. Here is a little chart for you with the markers I used. Keep in mind that, when you have a strong light source like a fireplace, your shadows will be pretty dark.
Once I was done coloring, I layered my scene over some panels that I cut out of kraft cardstock. I blended some Distress Ink in Ground Espresso ( SBC | SSS ) over the edges to add some depth to the panels.
And that’s my card for today! 100% up my alley with this cute Mama Elephant puppy and some super relaxing coloring!

Such great warm colouring. I never thought to colour the ckraft card base too it finishes it off so well.
