Today I Choose Happy | Spread Joy Not Germs Blog Hop

Hey everyone! I am back with my second post for today and another wonderful blog hop! The idea is to spread smiles in these difficult days, and there are SO many bloggers and sponsors who joined this great initiative!

Two of the sponsors are Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler Designs and, since I am in both DTs, I decided to create a card combining some of their products! Let’s see what I made!

background

I started by creating the background for my card. I die cut some Heffy Doodle Simply Teal-icious cardstock with the largest die in the Imperial Stitched Rectangle dies (HD | EH). I then added a foliage pattern on the panel by blending Catherine Pooler ink in the color Aquatini (CP | EH) through the Unbeliefable stencil (HD | EH).

I very quickly created the front panel by die cutting some white cardstock with the Imperial Rectangle Frames (HD | EH) and the Fancy Nancy dies (HD | EH).

images

For my images today I used the Heffy Doodle Chimply the Best (HD | EH) – SO cute and fun! I stamped them on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock with alcohol proof black ink and I colored them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

Here is a list of the colors I used

  • Monkeys (Fur): EB8, EB5, EB2,
  • Monkeys (Face, Ears and Belly): MB4, MB3, MB1
  • Vines: AG3, AG1, CG1

Once the coloring was over, I die cut everything with the coordinating dies (HD | EH).

sentiment and finishing touches

For my greeting I used the Happy X Three die (CP | EH)and one of the stamps in the Find Joy stamp set (CP | EH). The Find Joy set is part of the Catherine Pooler Canvo System for Bullet Journals, but it works great on cards, too!
I blended Catherine Pooler Ink in Lime Rickey (CP | EH) on the outline for my die cut word happy and stamped the rest of the sentiment with Midnight Ink (CP | EH).

To finish off my card front, I added some crystals and a few highlights with a white gel pen.

card inside

And because I was having so much fun making this card, I decided to decorate the inside of my card too! Isn’t this cute monkey snacking on a banana just perfect to go with that greeting!? I love it!
