Trying the Faber Castell Glitter Glass Bead Gel | Winter Card feat Studio Katia Holiday Village and Floral Snowflake

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here and today I am back with a card I created with the new Floral Snowflake stencil and the Holiday Village stamp set. I also tried out a new gel medium by Faber Castell for this card and (spoiler alert) I love it! You can see it in action in the video tutorial at the end of this post

I started off the card by creating the background on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I die cut an A2 sized panel with the Darling Ribbon and Frames dies and did some ink blending with Distress Oxides in Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac.

I then used the Floral Snowflake stencil and the Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel to create two large snowflakes on opposite corners of the background. This is a new to me medium and I really enjoyed using it. It dries clear and adds lots of texture and sparkle thanks to the glass beads and the glitter it contains. I will definitely be using it more!

I left the gel aside to dry and started working on my images. I used the Holiday Village stamp set and my ColourBlend pencils for my coloring. I the die cut them all with the coordinating dies.
For my sentiment I used stamps from the Holiday Winter stamp set – I created a banner from some white cardstock and stamped the greeting Holiday Wishes from Our Home to Yours.

Before adhering everything to my background, I added some extra detail and sparkle to it with Perfect Pearls. I diluted them with water and created some droplets with a paintbrush.
I raised the images and the sentiment banner over some foam tape and mounted everything on a top folding A2 card base.
