Birthday Card with Wendy Vecchi 7″ Make Art Stay-tion

Birthday Card - Wendi Vecchi Make Art Station 7 Inches First Impression and Review

Hi everyone! Today I am unbelievably excited to be sharing this birthday card and a video in which I show you the NEW Wendy Vecchi 7″ Make Art Stay-Tion [RNG | SBC] in action!

I had been eyeing the larger version of this tool that was released last year for quite a while, and when I saw the smaller size I was absolutely hooked! The 7″ Stay-Tion is just perfect for cards, it doesn’t take up a lot of space on my desk and I can store it very easily – I really love it! Make sure to check out the video at the end of this post, as there I show you the Stay-Tion and the tools you can use with it too!

For now, let’s have a look at how I created today’s card!

To create my card today I used stamps, dies and the stencil included in the Wendy Vecchi Birthday Bash set by Ranger [RNG | SBC].
I started by trimming some watercolor cardstock to 4×5.25″, where I created a colorful stripe with the stencil in the Birthday Bash set and my Distress Inks.
I secured the stencil on my panel using the Wendy Vecchi 7″ Make Art Stay-Tion and blended Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmelade and Picked Raspberry.

I then die cut some more watercolor cardstock with the scalloped rectangle die in the Birthday Bash set. I used the same stencil and Distress Inks in Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmelade to add a bit of a fun touch to it as well. I layered it with a black scalloped rectangle to create a drop shadow effect.

The images I used today are also part of the Birthday Bash set. I stamped them with Black Hybrid ink on Neenah Solar White 110llb cardstock and I colored them with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. Here is the list of markers I used

Cake Frosting: BT4, BT2, Blender
Cake Dough: TN4, TN3, TN1
Birthday Candle: MG5, MG3, MG1
Flame: OR3, OR1, CT4

Once I was done coloring, I die cut everything with the coordinating dies.

SENTIMENT AND FINISHING TOUCHES

To stamp my sentiment, I used the Perfect Stamp Positioner Set [RNG | SBC] and the Perfect Stamp Block [RNG | SBC]. These are additional tools you can use with your Make Art Stay-Tion and will help you position your stamped images on your projects.

I then glued everything to an A2 black cardstock base and moved on to the finishing touches. I added some white stripes to the candle with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I decorated the flame and the cake using Liquid Pearls and the Perfect Stylus Tools [RNG | SBC] (you can see how in the video). I used Prickly Pear [RNG | SBC] for the cake and Sunflower [RNG | SBC] and Orange Blossom [RNG | SBC] on the cake.
