To Bee or not to Bee Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today I am back with a card I created as part of the To Bee or not to Bee blog hop! This hop was organized by Milka Gubo, in order to celebrate 3rd World Bee Day, support bees and to raise public awareness of the importance of bees and apicultural products.

If you are interested, you can find a lot of educational information on the official World Bee Day pages. |
This hop is also sponsored by lots of amazing companies which offered prizes for you guys! More details about it at the end of this post, but for now let’s have a look at how I created my card!

IMAGES

The stamp set I chose today is the sweet Hey, Honey stamp set by SugarPea Designs. I stamped the images with Premium Hybrid Black Ink by Scrapbook.com and I colored them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. The paper I worked on is Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and, once the coloring was over, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies.

background

For the background of my card I used Distress Oxides and the Ink Smooshing Technique. I used Wild Honey, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade, and the cardstock I worked on is Spectrum Noir Premium Watercolor Cardstock. Once the ink were dry I die cut my panel with the Studio Katia Honeycomb Cover die.

I adhered the panel to a black card base that I created out of some black cardstock with the Darling Ribbon and Frames dies. I raised the main panel over some foam tape and glued the inner hexagons flat, for added dimension.

Sentiment and Finishing Touches

For the greeting on my card I used one of the stamps in the Oh, Honey stamp set. I stamped it with white hybrid ink on some black cardstock. The banner die that I used is part of the Heffy Doodle Tag Along Dies.

I finished off the card with some Midnight Blue Crystals by Studio Katia and I also added some Crystal Stickles to the wings of the bees.
