Love Children’s Books Illustrations? Then you NEED to SEE THIS! (Giveaway inside!)

As a kid I was a very eager reader and I was always very fascinated by the illustrations in the books I was reading. They were a huge part of the whole experience and they somehow gave me a warm, cozy feeling. And they still do.

It is no surprise then that when I found out that Colorado Craft Company is releasing a line of stamps based on the illustrations of Anita Jeram I got really excited! Coloring these stamps is like traveling back in time. All of a sudden I am back in Italy, sitting on my bed, and with a book in my hands.

The card I made today features the Christmas Tree Cat stamp set, but there are so many sweet and adorable sets in this release! And a super sweet enamel pin, too!

Colorado Craft Company Release

Below you can find some of my favorite sets . You can check out the full release here…isn’t it just wonderful?!

Clean and Simple Christmas Card

Coming to the card, I kept the design pretty simple. I wanted to focus on coloring this adorable image and wanted it to be the real star of the show.

I stamped it with black ink on some light grey cardstock and I colored it with a mix of Illustrator markers and colored pencils. The video at the end of this post shows the coloring process – and there is a giveaway in it, too! πŸ˜‰

Once I was done coloring the image, I added a light snowfall effect with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. I layered the card front with some wine red and white cardstock and that finished off my card.

You’re card is beautiful, thank you for sharing the making-of in the video !
Unfortunately I didn’t have the “Guess how much I love you” book as a child (maybe it didn’t exist in Dutch at that time); but I remember we had some of Richard Scarry books.
    Warm greetings from Belgium.

It is a good feeling to remember having a book in your hand and just see the characters that make you smile and feel cozy and comfy. These are some of the best new sets around. I love them. I want one or four or more.

This stamp set was my favorite and I ordered it right away yesterday morning!! I was scared it would sell out. This is my Sammy on Christmas morning. This will be his first Christmas with us. He is a rescue Siberian, he was a scared little kitten I saw online. We drove from Coastal Georgia to the North Carolina Mountains to get him. I had lost my 17-year-old Maine Coon and was devastated. I saw Sammy and the shelter said he was almost unadoptable because no one could touch him. I walked in, petted him, picked him up and took him home. We needed each other. I want to give him a wonderful Christmas. He is my little buddy, even though he wakes me with biting my hair and pulling it at 4 in the morning because he’s hungry!
