Inlay Die Cutting | Scrapbook.com Cards for Kindness

Hi everyone! Today I am really pleased to share not only a card with you, but a great initiative by Scrapbook.com. I am talking about Cards for Kindness: a way to bring a smile to people in difficult situations.

You can join by sending cards to Scrapbook.com, and the cards will be sent to nurses, doctors, staff members, counselors, parents and volunteers to people in need. You can find more details on this page. I do hope you will join, but if you do, please do it safely and respecting any social distancing measures your government has put in place. πŸ™‚

Background

It is unfortunately really hard to see on the pictures, but for my background I created a tone on tone effect by applying Ranger White Texture Paste over the Vintage Moroccan stencils. If you watch the video you will be sure to see the pretty and subtle effect.

I then used the Nested Flowers Decorative Die set to cut some Neenah Solar White cardstock, so that I could create an inlay die cutting effect.
I blended each floral frame with a different color of Distress Oxide and created a rainbow. I used Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac and Worn Lipstick.

Images

I then decided to add a touch of cuteness to the card and used the A Little Sparkle stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped the images on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers.

The set comes with coordinating dies but, since I don’t have them, I cute the images out with my scissors.

sentiment and finishing touches

The sentiment I used is part of the Scrapbook.com Cards for Kindness stamp set and I stamped it directly on my rainbow flower with Premium Hybrid Black Ink.
I used a white gel pen to create a shadow around the greeting, so that it will stand out a little more against the background. I added some sparkle to the images with a Scrapbook.com Glitter Brush Pen and I adhered everything on my card base.

And that’s my card for today! Don’t forget to check out the Cards for Kindness initiative and, if you can, to join in and help bring smiles to people in need. And if you are interested in watching the step by step process for this card, here’s my video tutorial for you! You can watch it down below or directly on my YouTube channel!
