Alcohol inks are so much fun and a great way to create super interesting backgrounds! For today’s card I went for a warm color palette, as I wanted to capture fall feels and colors.
This cozy background was the perfect home for the sweet bears in the Lawn Fawn Den Sweet Den Stamp Set ( SBC )! Curious to know how to make this card? Let’s take a look!
Background
As a first step I created my alcohol ink backround. I die cut some Yupo Paper ( SBC ) using the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables Dies ( SBC ) and started by wetting the paper with some Blending Solution ( SBC ) and then added my alcohol inks. The Orange Yellow Spectrum Set by Ranger( SBC ) has the perfect shades for a fall background!
Foiling Hack
With alcohol inks it can happen that, when they dry, some area remain sticky. This is the perfect opportunity to use your scrap pieces of foil!
Just apply the foil to your background with the pretty side up, burnish it with a score tool (or your hands) and done! You have now created foiled accents on your card with pretty much no effort!
In this case I used Gold Hot Foil by Spellbinders ( SBC ). There is something irresistible about gold on a fall card!
Images and Focal Point
For the focal point of my card I used the Scrapbook.com Heartfelt Wishes Die Set ( SBC ) and the Lawn Fawn Den Sweet Den Stamp Set ( SBC ). I used some vellum to separate the focal point from the background.
Sentiment
To create my sentiment I combined one of the greetings in the Lawn Fawn Den Sweet Den Stamp Set ( SBC ) with the Inspirational Life Sentiments dies by Scrapbook.com( SBC ) . I used Gold Midas Ink ( SBC ) to stamp the sentiment and to add a gold layer to the love die cut word.
Card Base
I mounted everything on an A2 card base where I created my own woodgrain background. If you’d like to see how to make it, you can check out this video on my channel.
